The battle is on: Kava Social vs Orlando
Thursday, 1 October 2026 · Online · chess.com
“Thirteen boards, one move a day, and bragging rights on the line. Win or lose, we do it together.”
Harold Gonzalez · Club director
It's official. Kava Social Chess Club just kicked off its first ever chess.com club battle, and we open against the Orlando Chess Association. Thirteen of ours against thirteen of theirs. Daily games, one move a day, all rated. The match went live this morning and the clocks are running. ♟️🔥
Daily chess is a different animal. Nobody gets blitzed off the board. You get a full day for every move: time to think, time to sweat, and time to talk yourself out of the move you were sure about an hour ago. ⏳
On paper we go in with the edge on the top boards. That is exactly when it gets dangerous. Orlando did not sign up to roll over, and a rating never won a game by itself. Board 13 is worth exactly as much as board 1. ⚔️
There is no trophy. Just bragging rights, and the answer to one question: can Bradenton hold its own online the way we do over the board? To our thirteen: play your game, take your time, and don't hang your queen at 2am. 🫡
This is where everyone else comes in. Kava Social Chess Club is now officially verified on chess.com. Find us in the chess.com Club Finder, or join here: chess.com/club/kava-social-chess-club. Join the club and you are on the roster for the next battle. ✅
And on Saturday we do it in person: Battle for the Bay, Tampa vs Bradenton, 7PM at Tampa Knights. Two battles, one week. Let's go, Kava. ❤️🖤
