How a night goes

Any time after 8. Head straight through to the back patio.

Order one thing. That's how the venue hosts us for free.
- 3Say it's your first night
Someone will find you a game at your level.

Boards and clocks are on the tables. Stay for one game or until midnight.

- No dues, ever

Where can I learn chess in Bradenton?
Right here. Tuesday is a guided study night, Sunday is for playing. Private lessons are available too.
Where do I park?
In the big lot off S Tamiami Trail, or on 13th St W. Not in the lot behind Jess Jewelers: it is a tow-away zone. See the parking map.
Do I need to know the rules?
No. We teach complete beginners too. Knowing how the pieces move just makes it easier.
Do I need a rating or a US Chess membership?
No. Those only matter for our rated tournaments.
Can I just watch?
Yes. Pull up a chair, just don't comment on a game in progress.
Will stronger players go easy on me?
They're here to teach, not to hunt easy wins. It's in our code of conduct.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. The director and several members are bilingual.
